Eco School
At All Saints Nursery we are constantly looking for ways to be environmentally friendly.
Being eco-friendly or environmentally friendly is becoming more and more important, due to problems like global warming. We are committed to having an eco-friendly nursery to do our part in reducing our carbon footprint.
We are an Eco School and have a Climate Action Plan in place.
What is an Eco School?
Eco Schools is an international programme that provides a structured approach to environmental education.
There are nine topics which are used for the Environmental Review and linking the programme into the curriculum.
The Eco Schools topics are:
- Litter
- Waste minimisation
- Energy
- Water
- Transport
- Healthy Living
- School grounds
- Biodiversity
- Global perspective
Eco Activities
Eco activities include litter picks, recycling and planting flowers. Environmental education is also made accessible and engaging through a range of curriculum links, for example looking at global issues in Early Years topics such as ‘Understanding the World’.
Forest School also offers a wide variety of opportunities for all kinds of Eco activities as pupils spend time outdoors and learn to appreciate the wonders of the natural world.
